D.O.C.S - Education

My name is Leah!!! I started off in the dental field as an expanded function dental assistant working in orthodontics. I continued my education to be a registered dental hygienist and am an avid member of the American Dental Hygienist Association. I love to spend time with my family and friends on my off days and I love being anywhere where there is water. I especially feel accomplished when I can make people with previous negative memories of dentistry comfortable and happy to be receiving care. I pride myself in staying current with the latest research in preventative oral health care to ensure the best quality of care for my patients!

Originally from Mobile, Alabama, Shannon graduated from Pensacola State College with an Associates in Dental Hygiene.  Shannon was the distinguished recipient of the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award which honors the top clinician in each dental hygiene program.  She is an active member of the professional dental hygiene organizations, ADHA and GDHA.  As a member of ADHA, she served as the Vice President of the Northwest Florida Dental Hygiene Association while practicing in Florida.  She is Vice President of Dental Hygiene Academy, the #1 board review company in the nation, helping students prepare for their dental hygiene national board.  Staying engaged and active in her profession is something she is very passionate about, as well as educating patients on the oral and systemic link.  Being in the clinical setting, making people smile, is by far her favorite thing about dental hygiene.  She currently resides in Acworth, GA with her best friend/fiancé.  Together they love to workout and travel.
