Custom-Made Porcelain Veneers and Minimal-prep LUMINEERS®
A stunning smile can have a huge impact on your appearance, helping you look younger and feel more confident. Dr. Christen Ebeling can provide you with porcelain veneers or minimal-prep LUMINEERS® to rejuvenate your smile. These thin shells of porcelain will adhere to the front of your teeth to cover small cosmetic blemishes and give your entire smile a more symmetrical appearance. The color of your veneers be will closely matched to that of your natural teeth. Before treatment, Dr. Ebeling will evaluate your smile to determine the right type of veneers for you. Contact East Cobb Premier Dental to learn more about veneers and find out if you are a candidate for this cosmetic treatment.
Concealing Minor Cosmetic Imperfections
Dr. Ebeling will attach porcelain veneers directly to the front of your teeth. Once in place, the veneers can conceal a number of aesthetic blemishes:
- Dark intrinsic stains (stains on the inner surface of a tooth)
- Chips and cracks
- Unusually shaped teeth
- Disproportionately small teeth
- Small gaps between teeth
- Worn or chipped edges
- Slightly misaligned teeth
Before placing traditional veneers, Dr. Ebeling will carefully reshape your teeth, trimming away a small amount of enamel. This step will allow the veneers to look natural among your surrounding teeth. Following the preparation, she will take impressions of your teeth. Our partnering dental lab can then craft veneers based on these impressions to match your smile. When they are finished, the dentist will attach them to your teeth. With proper care, your veneers can last ten years or more.
Ultra-thin LUMINEERS® for Minimal-prep Treatment
LUMINEERS® are an alternative to traditional veneers. LUMINEERS® are similar, but they are much thinner, and in some cases, they require only minimal preparatory work. In other cases, they require no preparation at all. They provide the added benefit of being reversible in most cases. Once a patient receives a traditional veneer, they will always need some kind of covering for the treated tooth. However, if one of your LUMINEERS® becomes damaged, or if you wish to remove it, your tooth probably will not require a subsequent restoration. During a consultation, Dr. Ebeling can determine which kind of veneer is right for you.
Are Porcelain Veneers or LUMINEERS® Right for You?
Depending on the prominence of an aesthetic imperfection, a traditional veneer may be the only way to achieve a natural-looking enhancement. An especially dark intrinsic stain, for example, may require a traditional veneer. In other cases, LUMINEERS® may be absolutely sufficient for concealing your dental imperfections. Patients interested in either option must be in good oral health before moving ahead with this cosmetic treatment because a healthy foundation is essential to the long-term success of veneers. After receiving appropriate treatment for any dental health concerns, we can proceed with veneers.
